For First-Time Participants

There are no course markings, guides, marshals, or organized safety services.

You are entirely responsible for your own navigation and safety.

Every year, some participants underestimate the course or arrive without adequate equipment such as maps, lights, or food. This has resulted in runners becoming unable to continue or needing assistance from others.

The Mt. Rokko Traverse is challenging even for experienced trail runners.

Please prepare thoroughly and participate only if you are confident in your abilities and equipment.

Mt. Takatori Bypass Route

This year, participants will bypass Mt. Takatori and use the paved roads (Nagata-Mino Line and Shiotani-Maruyama Line).

Either of the marked bypass routes is acceptable.

Please remain on sidewalks and do not step into traffic lanes (except bicycles where permitted).

There are three Lawson convenience stores along the bypass route.

Safety

Mt. Rokko Cannonball Run is an informal grassroots event.

We do not provide a professional medical team.

Please make your own race plan, avoid unnecessary risks, and most importantly:

Come back alive.

Finish Time Submission

Please scan the QR code attached to Robo Jiro at the finish area and submit your finish time using your smartphone.

  • POWER participants should enter their total time excluding break time at the turnaround.
  • TEAM, BUDDY, and NOLANS participants should have one representative submit the result.
  • If you did not finish, please check the DNF box.
  • If you have a team name, please include it.

Finish Time Limits

  • Takarazuka Finish closes at 7:00 PM on October 25.
  • NIGHT SPEED must finish at Sumaura Park by 8:00 AM on October 25.
  • NOLANS participants must arrive at Kominka Kotonoha by 12:30 PM.

Weather & Cold Protection

Mt. Rokko Cannonball Run has a reputation for attracting bad weather.

Rain, snowstorms, thunderstorms, and dense fog have all occurred in past races.

Please prepare sufficient clothing and equipment for severe weather conditions.

(Except for Momo-chan, apparently.)

No Baggage Storage

There is no baggage storage service.

Carrying everything you need is part of the Cannonball Run spirit.

If you have luggage you cannot carry, please use station coin lockers.

Please note that lockers at Suma Station are limited, so using other stations is recommended.

For Those Running at Night

  • Please keep quiet while passing through residential areas at night.
  • Wear a red blinking light on your back so others can see you.
  • Bells and other noisy devices are prohibited during late-night hours.
  • The turnaround point is flexible. You do not need to wait for the SPEED start.

If the entry fee has not been paid, your registration will be canceled automatically.

For cancellations made by August 15, 2026 (Sat), 50% of the entry fee will be refunded.

Bank transfer fees will be deducted from the refund.

No refunds will be issued after this date.
